OCI MISCELLANEOUS (RENEWAL)
OCI cardholder is required to get the OCI card re-issued once after completing 20 years of age. OCI cardholder is required to upload under OCI ‘Miscellaneous Services’ a copy of the new passport and a latest photo each time a new passport is issued within three months of receipt of the new passport. This service is provided on gratis basis.
Applicant updating their new passport details after 3 months of receiving the new passport has to pay 25 USD or equivalent Sri Lankan Rupees at High Commission of India. Applicant has to mention their email id and contact number clearly while updating the form.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
- Online Application form for OCI Miscellaneous Service.
- 2’*2’ (White Background) photos- 2
- Current passport copy
- Existing OCI card copy
- Copy of OCI sticker in Passport
- Copy of Applicant’s Birth Certificate (English)
- Address proof
(a) Address proof -if change of address (National Identity card copy/ water bill/ Electricity bill or Telephone bill)
or
(b) Copy of Rent Agreement with no objection letter from Tenant and copy of document mentioned in 7(a).
- Police complaint report if OCI card / OCI Sticker Passport is lost.
- Documents as proof of Indian Origin on which OCI card was earlier granted.
Note:
Duly filled application along with photocopies of supporting documents should be submitted at High Commission of India any working day after booking appointment from the official website. (www.hcicolombocpv.in)
All the original documents to be produced at the time of Interview.
- Spouse category OCI valid only 5 years only. It has to be renewed after every 5 years with supporting documents along with declaration/ Certificate of marriage subsisting as on the date of submission of the application.
- Persons registered as OCI Beneficiaries have not been given any voting rights, election to Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/Legislative Assembly/Council, holding Constitutional posts such as President, Vice President, Judge of Supreme Court/High Court.
- Any further benefits to OCIs will be notified by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) under section 7B (1) of the Citizenship Act, 1955.
- If it is found that the registration as an OCI Beneficiaries was obtained by means of fraud, false representation or concealment of any material fact or the registered OCI has shown disaffection towards the Constitution of India or comes under any of the provisions of section 7D of the Citizenship Act, the registration of such person will not only be cancelled forthwith but he/she will also be blacklisted from visiting India.
